A self-contained centre providing world class training, research, test and evaluation facilities, the Flight Physiological Centre in Linköping Sweden offers a range of services, from turnkey off the shelf training, through to access to controlled testing environments.
Providing first class facilities for the effective physiological training of military and civil aircrew and controlled environments for human physiology research and equipment testing, the Flight Physiological Centre (FPC) is continuing to consolidate its world-leading status in this specialist field. The Centre is managed and operated by QinetiQ Sweden AB on behalf of The Swedish Defence Materiel Administration (FMV) and provides turnkey and bespoke training and research services for customers all over the world.
Facilities at the FPC site in southern Sweden include a Dynamic Flight Simulator for G-tolerance training of aircrew, a Hypobaric Chamber and dedicated demonstration room for hypoxia awareness training, a Hyperbaric Chamber for training in high pressure environments and a test pool for sea survival training. There is also a gym, a series of briefing and conference rooms, a medical treatment room, full video and data recording capabilities and other support facilities for students and approved visitors at the highly secure site.
The FPC has provided flight physiological training for the Swedish Air Force for more than two decades. Ongoing investment has ensured the Centre maintains the agility and mission-led capabilities to meet the increasingly complex, diverse and demanding requirements of customers – not just in aviation, but also in the world of space and maritime.
